Rus Blackwell is an American actor best known for his starring role as Gordon Hopewell, a former marine who served in the first Gulf War and is now Banshee's D.A. and Carrie's husband, in the action drama television series Banshee.
Blackwell started his acting career in New York, training at Circle in the Square Theatre School and working on stage. He has built a solid resume over the years and has had the good fortune to work with a number of the industry's top professionals.
His work includes roles in the Oscar and Emmy award-winning projects Monster, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, HBO's Recount and From the Earth to the Moon.
He also played Joe John Curley, the suspected child killer, in the feature film Ten (directed by David Ayer, End of Watch).
Blackwell has also had guest starring roles in numerous television series including SeaQuest 2032, Pointman, Savannah, Party of Five, Grosse Pointe, One Tree Hill, Drop Dead Diva, Burn Notice, The Gates, The Finder, Magic City and Revolution.
