Bio

Thapelo Seemise, also known as TIPS ("Through Inspiration People Succeed") or Tips Shampoo, is a South African comedian, actor, choreographer and dancer best known for his role as Shampoo in the feature film Taxi Ride and its spin-off series of the same name.

Thapelo is a seasoned stage performer – as a trained contemporary dance choreographer, a comedian, a singer and a drummer in a church and community choir.

Having worked at the 2002 world summit as a presidential tour guide, he later (2006) graduated as a dancer and choreographer from South Africa's top contemporary dance school, Johannesburg Dance Foundation, while working as a dancer and comedian part-time.

In 2009 he was a Top 6 finalist on the second season of the SABC1 reality competition talent search So You Think You're Funny!, created by David Kau.

In 2011 he performed at the Black Only comedy festival and in 2012 landed a leading role in Kau's feature film Taxi Ride, which was spun off into a series that aired in 2013.

Also in 2013, he was one of the featured comedians in the May edition of Comedy Central Presents... Live @ Parker's, hosted by Kagiso Lediga.

In early 2016 he was the guest comedian on an episode of the SABC2 sketch comedy show The Bantu Hour.
