Dianne Simpson is a South African actress and singer best known for her starring role as Maryanne "Mary" Anderson, the general manager of the retirement home who is the sheriff, jury and judge and makes sure that her residents are safe from any stunts that Elias and Pete may want to pull, in the SABC3 sitcom Let Heaven Wait, in 2013.
Dianne is a seasoned theatre actress and has acted in major features and television series. In the animated movie Jock of the Bushfeld she gives voice to little puppy Jock and the character of Lillian.
She also played Angelique in the movie Play by Heart and was an on-set animal artist on the movie Racing Stripes.
She played Judith Stern in Generations and Talitha in Egoli. Additional television credits include the role of Lilly in the SABC2 miniseries Noah's Ark and the role of Terry in the M-Net soapie The Wild.
Among the many theatre productions she has acted in are Abbacadabra/ABBA musical, The Wizard of Oz, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Oliver Twist, Pride and Prejudice, The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Bewitched and Rose Red.
Born and raised in Johannesburg, she attended the Holy Rosary School and after matriculating attended the Pretoria Technikon.
