Bio

Jay Johnston is an American actor and comedian best known for his work as a writer and cast member on the HBO sketch comedy series Mr. Show (1995-1998) and for his starring role as Officer Jay McPherson on The Sarah Silverman Program, from 2007-2010.

Johnston has also made notable guest appearances on shows such as Curb Your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development and Malcolm in the Middle.

His film career has rivaled his television resume with appearances in Anchorman with Will Ferrell, Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny opposite Jack Black and Men in Black II along with Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith.

Johnston also appeared in a pilot for Fox titled Next! and is produced and starred in the animated show Moral Orel for Adult Swim. Johnston also provides voices for Mary Shelley's Frankenhole, which began airing in 2010.

He also has a recurring voice role as Jimmy Pesto in the FOX animated series Bob's Burgers.
