Eugenio Derbez is a Mexican actor best known to English television audiences for his starring role as Hector in the short-lived sitcom Rob, in 2012.
Derbez is one of Mexico's best-known actors and comedians, as well as one of the most recognised actors among the Spanish-speaking population in the United States.
Derbez created and starred in the popular Mexican series Vecinos (Neighbours) and XHDRbZ and starred in Univision's La Familia P. Luche. He also served as host for the 2009 and 2010 Latin Grammy Awards.
Derbez stars in the Adam Sandler comedy Jack and Jill. His additional feature film credits include See if I Care, Beverly Hills Chihuahua and Under the Same Moon.
Born in Mexico City, Derbez is the son of Sylvia Derbez, one of Mexico's most renowned film and television actresses. He began acting at age 12 and went on to earn a degree in film directing from the Mexican Institute of Cinematography and Theater, as well as a degree in acting from Televisa's Acting School.
Derbez is also trained in dance, music and singing. He lives in Los Angeles.
