Bio

Myleene Klass is an English singer, pianist, media personality and occasional model best known as a member of the defunct British pop band Hear'Say, which was formed on the reality competition television series Popstars in 2001.

Myleene has presented numerous primetime TV and radio shows, released three classical albums, designed her own range of baby clothes and fronted a number of advertising campaigns.

Klass began playing the piano and her grandfather's violin at age of four. She studied Voice at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she also added Harp to her repertoire.

After completing her studies Myleene won a scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music where she later graduated. Work as a session musician and singer quickly followed, leading to Myleene's West End debut, joining the cast of Miss Saigon.

Myleene was thrust into the spotlight in 2001 by the ITV1 show Popstars. From thousands of singing hopefuls, Myleene was chosen to become one of five members of the reality pop band, Hear'Say.

Hear'Say's first single "Pure and Simple" entered the charts at No.1, going on to sell over 1 million copies. However, despite a string of hit singles and a nationwide sell out tour, the band split in late 2002 leaving Myleene to pursue a solo career.

In 2003, Myleene signed a solo deal with Universal Classics, releasing her debut solo classical album Moving On soon after. Entering the classical charts at No.2, the album went on to break records in all genres, entering the popular charts amidst pop and rock artists.

Summer 2005 saw Myleene take on new challenges, focusing on her enthusiasm for television. Her first TV role was presenting the ITV1 Saturday morning music show cd:uk, an hour long, live pop show. She hosted the show for six consecutive months, interviewing a broad range of top music names from 50 Cent to Westlife.

In November 2006, Myleene spent three weeks in the Australian jungle as part of ITV1's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. The final show of the series saw Myleene finishing in second place.

Presenting roles followed on The X Factor and The People's Quiz and The One Show. 2007 then saw the launch of her own movie show on CNN International. The Screening Room saw her interview A List movie stars across the globe including Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Robert De Niro and Johnny Depp to name a few.

In addition to her television roles, Myleene also landed a key radio job, presenting the Classic FM Breakfast show every Saturday and Sunday morning.

July 2007 saw Myleene's return to world of music with a brand new deal with EMI Classics. Following the birth of her girl Ava, Myleene returned to work in the autumn of 2007 to host her own ITV1 prime time show Saturday Night Divas and finished off the year hosting BBC1's live end of year show New Year Live.

2008 kicked off with the release of Myleene's first book, a candid pregnancy diary My Bump and Me. The book shot straight into the Top 10 bestseller charts the week after it hit shelves and remained there for many weeks.

Shortly after, Myleene flew to Canada to host her debut show for the country, A Listers Unzippped, a fashion panel show with a twist. She followed this by presenting The Classical Brits for ITV1.

Later that Summer Myleene took over Saturday nights on BBC1 with the hit series Last Choir Standing. Co-hosting with Nick Knowles, the show drew in big summer ratings for the channel.

Outside of her work, Myleene also supports several charities. As part of World Vision's 24 hour Famine Appeal, Myleene visited Sierra Leone in early 2006 to see how the charity was working to help villages build up their lives.

She also works regularly with NCH The Children's Charity, fronting their important Stop Text Bully campaign. Myleene also visited Kabul in Afghanistan to present troops with a prize as part of the Daily Mirror's Pride Of Britain awards.

In autumn 2008 Myleene launched her very own baby range Baby K and in January 2009 she launched Pantene Pro V's Volume and Body collection. She returned to primetime TV with Channel 4's 10 Years Younger: The Challenge, where two women go head to head each week with one goal - to look younger.

In 2012 she co-hosted the 62nd Miss World pageant.
