Bio

Michelle Ayden is a South African actress, comedienne, drama teacher and entrepreneur best known as one of the starring cast members of the SABC3 satirical sketch comedy series Sketch U Later, in 2012.

Born and raised in Boksburg, she received a Diploma in Journalism - Print Media from Allenby Campus in 1998. She graduated BA Drama Hons Cum Laude from the University of Pretoria in 2003.

She has also received training in singing and Latin American dancing.

In 2007 she was cast as the controversial Maggie Rossouw on the M-Net soapie Egoli. Since then she has worked on numerous television and film productions including 7de Laan, Jozi-H, Getroud Met Rugby, Erfsondes, Casper Rasper Weer and District 9.

She has also done extensive work in theatre in productions including The Cherry Orchard, Agt Vroue, Shirley Valentine, Madame Butterfly's Finishing School for Young Ladies (which she also directed), Rooikappie, Musikante van Bremen, Danny - Champion of the World and Little Blue Dress.

Michelle has done voice overs for Assupol, recorded a children's series onto audio disc and deejayed as a presenter on TUKSFM. She has taught at the University of Pretoria's drama department as a voice for radio lecturer and an acting coach on and off since 2002.

She owns her own acting and communication training studio, Michelle Ayden Dramatix, which offers professional education with greater personal attention and support than offered by public academic institutions in the field of Performing Arts, Speech and Directing and Communication Skills (Public Speaking).

She is married, has a daughter and currently resides in Centurion. She is fluent in English and Afrikaans.
