Dominique McElligott is an Irish actress best known for her starring role as Lily Bell, a newly widowed woman trying to survive in a man's world, in the period drama western television series Hell on Wheels, from 2011-2012.
In her early career, Dominique first came to notice when she starred opposite Sean McGinley in On Home Ground and in Harry Hook's mini-series Whiskey Echo.
After finishing her studies, she won the female lead in Pete Riski's Lordi horror film Dark Floors, Rick Larkin's Satellites and Meteorites and Being Human. She went on to appear as a series regular in Raw, directed by Kieron J Walsh and David Caffrey.
She subsequently appeared opposite Sam Rockwell in the acclaimed and multi-award winning feature film Moon directed by Duncan Jones.
She also acted in the pilot episode for The Philanthropist, which was filmed in South Africa, but her character was cut from the final edit and she never actually appeared in the series.
Dominique also appeared in The Guard with Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheadle, directed by John McDonagh and the feature film Blackthorn opposite Sam Shepard and Stephen Rea and directed by Mateo Gil.
