Bio

Allen Leech is an Irish actor best known for his television roles as Marcus Agrippa in Rome (2007) and as chauffeur Tom Branson in Downton Abbey, since 2010.

Leech studied drama and theatre at Trinity College Dublin. He appeared in several British television series before making the transatlantic jump as Agrippa in the HBO series Rome.

Downton Abbey reunited him with Maggie Smith and Hugh Bonneville, whom he appeared with in the From Time to Time, the 2009 film written by Downton writer/creator Julian Fellowes.

He also starred in Mike Leigh's reboot of his acclaimed 1979 play Ecstasy and appeared in the crime film The Sweeney, in 2012.
