Zanele Mbokazi is a South African preacher, evangelist, television presenter and entrepreneur best known for creating and producing the annual Crown Gospel Music Awards.
Mbokazi's media career started in the early 1990s when she starred in a reality show called Livewire on the then NNTV. In 1995 she joined Ukhozi FM in Durban, where she presented gospel music programmes and talk shows.
Whilst at Ukhozi FM she started doing television work, as a news and current affairs presenter for the KZN Network.
She joined SABC1 in 1997 as a news and current affairs presenter. She also started and presented a gospel music programme called Ihora lokudumisa. In 1999 she started her own public relations company, Mirror PR.
Zanele completed her matric at St. Francis College in Mariannhill. She then obtained a BA Degree from the University of Natal, majoring in English and Politics.
She later obtained a BA Honours degree in Media and Communications. She also holds a PR Diploma from Damelin.
She was a presenter of the SABC1 gospel show Gospel Gold until 2007, when she moved into producing the show instead.
In 2010 she hosted the first season of the ONE Gospel reality competition Shine. She was replaced for the second season by Fezile Makhanya.
In 2012 she presented the SABC1 religious talk show Khwezela/Rekindle with Zanele Mbokazi.
