Tony Curran is a Scottish actor best known for his starring role as Datak Tarr, an ambitious Castithan businessman who is the primary figure in Defiance's underworld, running everything from gambling to weapons smuggling and organized crime, in the science fiction television series Defiance.
Curran rose to fame in the BBC series This Life. Since then, he has appeared in a number of major film and television roles, including The Invisible Man, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Guillermo de Toro's Blade II.
He has appeared in such television series as Grange Hill, Taggart, The Bill, This Life, Ultimate Force, Numb3rs, Medium, Primeval and 24.
Curran is a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
