Gangland Season 2 takes viewers beyond the Cape Flats street wars into the chilling reality of how Mexican cartels, Colombian cocaine lords and Nigerian crime syndicates have infiltrated South Africa, running multibillion-rand operations that dwarf the neighbourhood turf battles of the Cape Flats.

When a serving police general accuses his own colleagues - police, prosecutors, even judges - of working for drug cartels, Larsen knows something has fundamentally changed.

What she uncovers is a system under siege: international organised crime has captured South Africa from within.

The series opens with the execution of gang leader Andre Naude in broad daylight, revealing a chilling voice note sent hours before his death.

Larsen then exposes the brutal reality of cartel operations through harrowing tape recordings of a local man being tortured before investigating how Mexican, Balkan and South American cartels have established their operations in South Africa.

From Cape Flats gang wars to cartel executions, from children recruited at 12 to fraud kingpins corrupting government systems from inside prison cells, Larsen exposes a system captured at every level.

She follows the money, the drugs and the violence to expose a sophisticated criminal network that spans continents, with South Africa at its centre.
