Actress Robyn Rossouw, who plays new arrival Cheryl on Skemergrond, doesn't wear any make-up to portray the character and she's kept her hair natural. According to Robyn: "Feeling that 'bare' on camera really helped me find Cheryl’s vulnerability.”

Mzansi Magic's new novela Nyala O... was originally titled Mrs Maponya - reminding us that we refuse to use the titles Mrs or Miss because Mr's aren't labelled according to marital status in the same way. All women should be Ms only.

The cast of Yellowstone had no clue what their fellow characters would say before they started filming scenes for the fifth and final season. This from Jennifer Landon (Teeter): "“We get these redacted scripts. Basically, everything is blacked out except for your lines.” This was to secure secrecy around storylines. Does it impact on their acting? Part 2 of the season premieres on M-Net, Monday 11 November at 20h00.

Production begins on sixth and final season of dystopian Margaret Atwood drama The Handmaid's Tale. Elizabeth Moss returns as long suffering shero Offred. Premieres on Hulu in 2025, three years after Season 5. Used to be on M-Net and then Showmax so you'd think it will be again. Will confirm closer to the time.

Season 2 of Netflix fantasy adventure One Piece begins production at the Cape Town Film Studios this week, where Season 1 was filmed too. It's a high sea action adventure based on the manga series and it uses boats, which the studios have in supply. They have three ships and three water tanks as sets for the sea.

What does the Arendsvlei cast speak about between filming? According to actress Megan Saayman, "Everyone sits together and tells stories to pass the time. You will hear the funniest stories, but I am not someone who talks a lot. So I listened and learned a great deal.” Her character Ayesha was mistakenly killed by her husband this week when she was caught in crossfire.

Did you know? KB Motsilanyane sings the theme song on Mzansi Magic's new novela Champions. She co-wrote it too, with producer and writer Bonga Percy Vilakazi who was creative producer on The River. He also wrote Gqeberha: The Empire's theme song.

What we didn't see on Devil's Peak Eps 2: editing trickery in the scene between Thobela and traumatised mother Ntsusa - when he was in her house, saying he would help her. Sisanda Henna and Faith Baloyi filmed it separately and weren't actually together. Twas edited into one scene. Faith was injured in a previous scene when she ran after the car that took Jacob and couldn't film their scene according to schedule. >>
