COOL Netflix to premiere new docco series F1: The Academy - about the women's driving academy that runs concurrently with the F1 season. It was created in 2023 to get more women into motorsport and the show covers the 2024 Championship in a similar style to Drive to Survive. Produced by Academy founder Susie Wolff and Reese Witherspoon, under her Hello Sunshine production house. Premieres Wednesday 28 May. 2025's Championship airs on SuperSport on F1 weekends.

COOL New 12th season of HISTORY's survival series Alone is set in South Africa for the first time - in the Great Karoo Desert. 10 survivalists are dropped off and left Alone, with 10 survival tools and camera equipment to document their survival as they face Cape buffalo, warthogs, scorpions, venomous snakes, baboons, wildebeest and punishing weather. The prize: $500,000. Premieres in the US in June - only airs in South Africa in October :(.

Hawston's an interesting place between Fisherhaven and Hermanus, with an Olympic-sized pool. Arendsvlei star Sherman Pharo (Thys) hails from the village. COOL SA dancer Musa Motha made the final of Britain's Got Talent on Tuesday 29 May. He placed 1st in the Semi Finals. Musa's left leg was amputated after a cancer diagnosis and his friends taught him to dance. He went on to train at the Vuyani Dance Theatre in Joziburg, moved to the UK in 2021 and dances for the Rambert dance company in London. >>
