Beach Girls is a family drama mini-series about a lawyer and his teenage daughter who move to a coastal town after a personal tragedy, and the colourful locals who enrich their lives.
Rob Lowe plays Boston attorney Jack Kilvert, a recent widower and father of Nell. After Jack's wife Emma dies in a car crash, he and Nell return to the beach town where they have a summer home.
It should be a new beginning for father and daughter, but Jack, thoughtlessly, has brought along his new girlfriend, so a resentful Nell spends as little time as she can at home. In an attempt to learn more about her dead mom, she becomes close to Stevie, a beautiful, reclusive artist who was friends with the late Emma.
The arrival of Maddie complicates the relationship between father and daughter even further: Nell is pleased to see her, but Jack is angry, as he feels his sister is to blame for his wife's death.
