Amalanga Awafani this Monday 24 August 2026:
Siphesihle Vazi as Stha's new lurve interest Dr Thokozane Jobe.
But first!... in other health related news: Reginald Gumede blasts back from the dead this Wednesday 19 August.
Melusi Yeni reprises his role as Reginald, a man everyone believed was dead. His return raises a burning question: where has he been all this time?
As he walks back into the lives of his son and the Dumas, old wounds are reopened and long-buried tensions threaten to resurface.
Siphesihle Vazi debuts four episodes later as the confident, charming and ambitious medical maverick Dr Jobe.
He enters Stha’s life as her doctor and their relationship soon takes an unexpected turn, with him becoming a love interest and the soft landing Stha never knew she needed.
But beneath his polished exterior lies a man who likes to be in control.
Is his seemingly perfect romance with Stha everything it appears to be?
Siphesihle has this to say about the role:
Siphesihle: “I’ve been incredibly blessed to grow within the SABC1 family, from my Selimathunzi days, to producing my own show She Is DJ, and now joining one of the most loved shows on the channel, Amalanga Awafani.
The SABC1 audience has always welcomed me with so much love, and I’ll forever be grateful for that support.
Dr Jobe enters the story at an important time, touching on parental and step-parent rights - a conversation we don’t often have openly.
I’m excited to be part of a storyline that can entertain but also educate and hopefully start meaningful conversations in South African homes.
A huge thank you to Stained Glass for trusting me with Dr Jobe. I’ve wanted to be part of the Stained Glass family for the longest time, and 11 years later, it finally happened. Some things really are worth the wait.”
