She's a responsibility-dodger who arrives on the scene after breaking up with her handbag - a truck driver.
As you'll see, she's a scene stealer who's going to pull focus while Zethu and her mother prepare for Zethu's baby.
Mzansi Magic sent us this Q&A with Gabisile that gives insights into Thokozile's essence:
Q: Thokozile is loud and completely unpredictable, what drew you to her character?
Gabisile: I love how free-spirited she is, she thinks out loud and says things we only hold back so as not to hurt anyone, especially because in normal life I can’t really be like that.
She reminds me of my younger self when we were so carefree, and able to speak our minds without being offensive.
Q: Thokozile seems to be hiding some pain behind humour. How did you approach bringing both to life?
Gabisile: The character is like a walking social media post, where you show what you want people to see.
I do that with my children too, where I don’t show pain, but instead show the strong and positive side.
That is how I approached it, just had to be real about what happens in real life too.
Q: What has your experience been like working with the Inimba cast on set?
Gabisile: Oh man! What a beautiful experience! It has been amazing. Working with the Inimba cast and crew is like coming into a really nice and cool environment…very chilled yet warm, welcoming and all worth it.
It didn’t feel like a new place, it felt like home, both for those I have worked with in the past and working with those I was meeting for the first time.
Q: What can viewers expect from Thokozile’s arrival in Cosmo City?
Gabisile: Laughter, love and loads of chaos! Get ready to have fun and remain entertained.
Q: What do you think audiences will love or love to hate about Thokozile?
Gabisile: I can liken her to the musica artist, Zodwa Wabantu, whom I love.
Some people don’t like her and some love to hate her, but she doesn’t care.
She is not hurting anyone and just enjoys living her life freely while making unintentional mistakes but just remains pure and true to herself. Thokozile is just like that!
