Good news for Amalanga fans... it's back this Monday 25 May 2026 at 18h30 for Season 2.
We were concerned it wouldn't happen - you know SABC mos - but yaydom, it is.
As we told you
here, the story's moving from KZN to Joziburg and the season's about second chances.
It's about falling, getting up again, and learning the hard way that the journey to success is often slower and far more complicated than we expected.
Nsikelelo Mthiyane and Fanele Zulu reprise their roles as Thembi and Sabelo, and Brian Khumalo and Amandla Dladla return as Sugarbasin and Stha.
There's a new family in the mix - the Dumas - which brings a blitz of new cast, namely:
Ncibijana Madlala as Zaqheqhe,
Sannah Mchunu as Majele,
Thokozani Nzima as Sandlasenkosi,
Zazi Kunene as Ntando,
Craig Nobela as Fenda,
Aramis Ngwenya as Sfuba,
Ayanda Phambana as Nobesuthu,
and Sipho Mbele, who plays nosey neighbour Mahlangu.
This is the Season 2 synopsis, followed by the first teasers:
The darkness inside the boot is absolute, broken only by the rhythmic, jarring thuds of the car hitting uneven pavement.
Sabelo’s breath comes in ragged gasps, the air growing thick and stale as the vehicle swerves sharply, pinning him against the cold metal side.
Every muscle in his forearms is strained to the limit, fighting the unyielding constraints that keep him anchored in the dark.
Can he outrun the consequences of his choices, or has the path already been set?

After losing everything in Nquthu, former Maskandi stars and millionaires Sabelo and his twin Thembi have their lives unravel, forcing them to uproot and move to the unforgiving city of Joburg.
It is in the fast-paced and chaotic Jozi that the twins seek sanity, belonging and opportunity to make it big again.
The season asks the question: What happens if the dream doesn’t work out?

Episode 1
The season opens with a flash-forward of Sabelo being chased in Johannesburg, before cutting back three weeks earlier.
During Gumede’s ukujikijela ritual, Sabelo is overwhelmed by traumatic memories and suffers a mental breakdown.
Ntombi is also shown struggling financially without Gumede and even tries to borrow money from Stha.

Episode 2
Sabelo wakes up with his mind reset to the past, believing MaDuma is still alive and that recent events have not happened.
He attacks Xoli after she calls him crazy, and Gogo Gumede calls Dlamuka for spiritual help.
Ntombi discovers that Gumede had life cover.
Wednesday 27 May 2026
Episode 3
Dlamuka explains that Sabelo is not bewitched; he needs the grounding of his maternal family, the Dumas, but Thembi refuses to contact them because she sees them as strangers.
Ntombi meets the broker and learns Gumede’s policy is worth R2 million, but her excitement is crushed when she discovers she is not a beneficiary.
Thursday 28 May 2026
Episode 4
Sabelo’s condition worsens, and the doctor advises that he be admitted for psychiatric observation, while Thembi refuses.
Ntombi spirals emotionally over Gumede excluding her from the policy, while Mam’Sara pushes her to fight for the money.
MaNgubane and Xoli steal Thembi’s phone, and Thembi’s card declines at the doctor.
Friday 29 May 2026
Episode 5
Thembi discovers that her accounts have been frozen and all her assets have been seized because she missed court proceedings.
Desperate to protect Sabelo from triggers, she sedates him and removes Gumede’s tombstone.
Ntombi arrives in Nquthu demanding Gumede’s money, but she and the Gumede women are shocked to find the graves flattened.
