Comin' up on Generations: The Legacy this week: - these three new characters...

Kagiso Moremi
Played by Pholoso Mohlala

Kagiso's used to living a traditional life with a 9-5 job in the finance sector. He didn’t love it. He didn’t hate it either. It was just a job.

He had a fiancée too. And he loved her. But it wasn’t a passionate, all-consuming love. It was all just… nice and neat. Until she left him.

Lost, and questioning everything, Kagiso quit his job and went travelling around world. Mostly Africa. He spent a lot of time on spiritual retreats discovering what made him happy.

These days Kagiso has a more laid-back, free-spirited approach to living. He's all about living in the moment.

Pholoso on being on the show:

Pholoso: “I have always known that one day I will be part of the Generations family from 2003, and strongly believed in the verse that says, when the time is right, I the Lord will make it happen. He is never late, he is always on time and now he is showing off.”

Flash fact

Pholoso played charmer Tsietsi on Skeem Saam.

He debuts on Gen tonight, 17 February 2026.

Nomasebe Nobe
Played by Makgomo Mahlangu

Nomasebe's the first IsiNdebele character to be on the show. She was abdoned as a child and raised by a hospital cleaner.

She's highly driven, stuck in her beliefs, simple yet complicated. Fiery. Captured but unaware. There’s a tough shell on the outside but inside lives a little girl who is looking for who she truly is.

She's a fighter who fights for the environment, stands up for female issues and struggles, but somehow fails to fight for herself in the right manner.

She's stubborn and loves a good debate. She must always win and always be right.

She has become violent - she physically fights with her boyfriend :-0

Makgomo on being on the show:

Makgomo: “Ibhudango lomuntu alifi umnikazi asaphila. #dream come true."

Flash fact

 Makgomo's a TV newcomer.

She debuts on Friday 20 February 2026.

Mzimkhulu Ntlokwana
Played by Ayanda Daweti

Mzimkhulu's highly conservative but wrapped in Africanism. He's issue driven and stuck in his beliefs.

He's a laid-back kind of guy but full of anger. When pushed he is lethal.

He's a one woman man who's controlling and stubborn. All in the name of love. He's very jealous and has a sharp eye to spot talent. He can be obsessive.

From Mzimkhulu:

Mzimkhulu: “Joining Generations: The Legacy has been one of the highlights of my career. For every South African kid who grew up watching this iconic show, being part of it one day feels surreal. I

It’s always been a box I wanted to tick. I can’t wait for viewers to meet Mzimkhulu, his highs and lows, and his beautifully imperfect imperfections.”

Flash facts

Ayanda played Chumani on Scandal! and was nominated for an Outstanding lead Actor Royalty Soapie Award for the role in 2021.

Ironic! now that Scandal's up against Gen in the timeslot.

His résumé includes roles on Mzansi Magic's Inimba, Gomora and 1802: Love Defies Time.

He also debuts this Friday.

In your mind's eye... imagine how they fit into the bigger picture of the show.

Who will they have relationships with?

It would be interesting to see how they fit and who they will connect to. The show is excellent and moving nicely. Big up to Bongi Ndaba. Congratulations on the SAFTA nominations too
