Carte Blanche this Sunday 15 February 2026:
Crypto Con: Continued
It was the cyber heist of the century: in April 2021, an estimated R700-million in Bitcoin disappeared overnight.
The young Cajee brothers behind the cryptocurrency investment scheme claimed they had been hacked, even as they made a quick getaway to Dubai.
There they apparently lived large while most of their investors accepted partial refunds in exchange for dropping criminal charges.
Meanwhile, it seems the brothers were preparing to hatch another scheme - and make a second escape.
We follow their footsteps - from a luxury Dubai villa to a Swiss prison and an exclusive KwaZulu-Natal estate.
We find out how they skipped the country, where they holidayed, and how they spent their millions.
And we speak to those who helped the self-styled crypto kings create new lives before they, in turn, fell victim to golden promises and lost it all.

Goodbye Sandton
They’re multimillion-rand properties in prime locations. But behind high walls, syndicates are moving in.
In Johannesburg's luxury suburbs, property syndicates target absentee owners and hijack under-protected homes, subletting to hundreds of residents, making illegal electricity and water connections, and leaving a trail of makeshift structures and destruction.
Desperate homeowners wait years for the City to evict squatters, while neighbours suffer crime and nosediving property values.
Who is behind a rise in home hijackings and why is the City dragging its feet? Carte Blanche investigates.

Oscar’s Final Fight
He’s a legend who has faced the world’s toughest oceans. Now, he’s fighting for survival. And when it comes to this incurable disease, survival means money.
Oscar Chalupsky once captained the national Olympic canoe team and is a 12-time World Surfski Champion.
In 2019, he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a blood cancer that affects plasma cells. Once considered a death sentence, medical advances have transformed its treatment – at a cost.
And Oscar’s medical aid scheme refused to foot the bill. So, he made his battle public.
Now, Oscar is fighting to set a precedent for hundreds of other patients, and he’s refusing to give up hope for his own life, either.
