Coming up on Generations: The Legacy on Tuesday 18 March 2025:

Vuyolwethu Matiwane in her first TV role. She plays East London-born Lulama who's move to Big City Life (#Mattafix) causes her trouble and strife.

Lulama comes to Joziburg looking to make it big and to escape poverty.

Her mother's religious and she grew up attending church every Sunday, but the road to making it in life has been rough, especially since she started university.

Lulama's ambition is similar to Vuyo's, except Vuyo's been more successful.

This is what she has to say about being cast in the role:

Vuyo: “I am completely overwhelmed with gratitude and do not even know where to begin! I thank the producers for believing in me and offering me this incredible opportunity to join the Generations: The Legacy family.

"I am truly humbled to be a part of such an iconic South African soapie, and I promise to give it my all and make the most of this amazing role. Thank you again, a dream come true!”

Vuyo began her mission by studying make-up and photography at City Varsity in 2018 and went on to study performance art for three years.

She's represented by Mehlareng Actors & Performers Agency.

Vuyo plays one of three new characters who debut on Gen over the next two months. You'll find portraits on the others by tapping here:

Athie Cwele as Kamogelo Moroka

Sicelo Mabaso as Samkelo

As these newcomers arrive, two characters depart: Nicholas Nkuna and Mpho J Molepo make their final appearances as Anathi Mpofu and Kabisi Moroka in March.
