Un-Jones

So in the past week, we've all been alarmed by the news we read or heard concerning Minnie Dlamini (former Mrs. Jones).

Not only is she still going through a divorce, but Mr. Perfect Man just made it messy (Oooh hopefully y'all watched "Becoming Mrs. Jones"), this is not the man we were introduced to.

Let's go way back because once upon a time Minnie couldn't stop singing his praises and would talk about how they met and all in radio show interviews.

So they met in 2010 while both working at Urban Brew Studios (Soccer fever was in the air and Minnie was still new to the church of IT Girl).

They however only made things official around 2012, they were both in relationships and she said in an interview that once they were both finally single, Mr. Jones asked her out on a date, which she found weird.

He convinced her by telling her that they knew each other well as they'd built a good friendship over time so their dating made sense (if we aren't married in the next blah blah years then it's you and me at the altar - it was time to pay the piper I guess).

So boom, they get engaged and rush to the altar (allegedly or something, but we can all agree that it was super fast, like she had something to prove fast). Before getting to the altar they said let's give you this content real quick and Minnie and Mr. Jones gave us "Becoming Mrs. Jones" (the road to getting married, okay but from what we saw we knew right, we all knew it was just a matter of time).

I mean it was good reality TV I guess and in July 2017 Minnie and Mr. Jones tied the knot (Confession time: I call him Mr. Jones because I don't know his name and don't care to).

In February 2022 Minnie announced their divorce, said they love each other and are still good friends, you know the usual divorce jargon (Hunny then went on to say he wasn't fulfilling his duties as a husband and helping her reach her greatest potential, this was a lot of words used for "He broke and I'm tayad" hehehe, allegedly of course).

Fast track to Mr. Jones requesting spousal support. He wants to get R10k a month which Minnie ain't trying to hear (Not him playing our favourite IT Girl, he must think he is Stevie J the way he is moving for the money).

Someone tell Tyler Perry that we are not going to forget him encouraging us to marry brokies because this is what they do. Also, why didn't Minnie hire a P.I. and do like as much background research as possible... She's now a victim of Swindling and our favourite IT Girl doesn't deserve that.

Y'all was this tea hot and messy or what!!! Do y'all think 10k is too much?

I love to hear from you all so please leave your thoughts in the comments and link up with me on Twitter. Let me know if you'd like us to meet at least once a week to discuss Tea Tea and Messy Tea.

Do y'all think 10k is too much?

Good question E*Star - really made me think.

It depends on how much cash he got out of the reality show I suppose - it wouldn't have happened without him so he needs some compensation for his role in it if he hasn't received any money from it.

That would be a lump sum though - one time and it's over.

So yes, 10K a month is ridiculous, it could go on forever! It also depends on how they got married. Hopefully for Minnie it's Out of Community of Property.

I hear you Hun! I believe spousal support is paid until the ex gets married again now he can decide to never remarry so she paying for life or they can lower the settlement and be done. It's alleged that she forked out the wedding bill so it seems she's been more monied then him for a while so yeah I agree with him getting paid for the show and letting this spousal support thing go.
