Telemundo classic Hidden Passion returns after 20 years this Monday 26 September at 22h00, replacing The Legend which ended last night.

Hidden Passion, known as Pasión de Gavilanes in Spanish, makes its comeback with a strong connection between Seasons 1 and 2.

It centres round the same families, with many of the original cast reprising their roles.

It chronicles the passionate and tumultuous lives of the Reyes and Elizondo families, picking up 20 years after the original series.


In 2003

Season 1 followed the love story of the Reyes brothers who were intent on avenging the death of their sister by passing themselves off as workers on the Elizondo family’s hacienda.


Also in 2003

Their passion for revenge and long-standing rivalry didn't last though because their anger turned into romance when the brothers unexpectedly fell in love with the Elizondo sisters.


Now, 20 years later, the Reyes and Elizondos are united as one family, but their hard-won bond is fated to be tested by new challenges.

As the families weather the ebb and flow of two decades together, another tragic crime involving the death of a professor rocks the family to its core.

Evidence gathered by the investigation points to the sons of one of the couples as possible culprits, triggering a heartrending series of events to prove their innocence.
 
Returning cast members are Danna García, Mario Cimarro, Juan Alfonso Baptista, Natasha Klauss and Paola Rey.
 

Original cast in 2003

Newcomers include Zharick León, Kristina Lilley, Carmenza González, Tatiana Jauregui, Bernardo Flores, Sebastián Osorio and Juan Manuel Restrepo.

I watched a similar concept Telemundo show called Tierra de Reyes (Land of honor) a few years ago on eXtra. Really enjoyed it. Wouldn't mind watching the first season of this to compare the two
