These are the primetime adult television viewing figures for July 2021.

If you can't see the listing below, then click this link to access them in a document instead: Top Shows on TV: July 2021.

Special notes

At 19h00

The most watched episode of House of Zwide for the month was the series premiere on Monday 19 July, which attracted 4,241,023 viewers and a 35.5% audience share.

This means that 35.5% of people who were watching TV at the time were tuned in.

First impressions suggest that The Estate paid the price for this because its primetime viewership dropped by a whopping 28.6% between June and July and it's also on at 19h00, on S3.

Primetime viewership dropped from 492,127 to 351,390 viewers between June and July.  Audience share also dropped from 3.7 to 2.9.

BUT this happened on Friday 2 July, two weeks before House of Zwide started so it wasn't caused by its arrival.

As you'll see, the daytime repeats of The Estate are doing better than primetime episodes and the Saturday Omnibus is in S3's Top 5 shows.

Numbers for this increased from 475,009 viewers in June to 503,193 in July, indicating viewers are preferring to watch it at this time as binge viewing.

Omnibus numbers have remained between 475,000 and 530,000 since it premiered in April this year.

Cheers! *Hic*

The Presidential Address that topped SABC2 was the announcement of the return to an adjusted Level 3, starring alcohol.

Gomora and The Queen

Big increase from June for both shows this month: 355,025 for Gomora and 273,207 for The Queen, with Audience Share increases for both too.

Just out of interest when will the industry body give us comprehensive TV viewing figures. I mean inclusive of channels on StarSat, Open View and maybe a comparisim between the commuty tv channels especially since they are available in the different satellite services. Im not sure if maybe TVSA cant also ask sentech for the current DTT figures.
