SPECIAL NOTES

Scandal! puts foot to the pedal

Disruption avoided. Last month Imbewu was snapping at the heals of Scandal! and looked to set to become e.tv's No. 1 show this month but that didn't happen by a long shot this month.

A half hour flik does the trick

SABC1's 19h30 Wednesday night NFVF films are making a strong showing, with three of the month's five films in the Top 20.

You'd probably find that a fourth would have made it if the BRC didn't erroneously include the Uzalo and Skeem Saam morning repeats, thereby taking up two valuable slots.

Film Date Viewership
Grey Matter 9 September 2020 2,593,860
Moshidi's Child 23 September 2020 2,991,247
Pretty's Daughter  30 September 2020 3,028,545

If you were the SABC1's Commissioning Editor, would you order more?

Fo' sho.

Daytime mistakes reveal daytime intel

These TAMS have the incorrect parameters again this month, showing daytime programming when they're only supposed show Primetime shows between 17h30 to 22h30.

Yet again it shows the high viewership numbers of daytime TV and we can see the viewership for SABC2's breakfast show Morning Live for the first time in a long time.

Its highest episode for the month attracted 672,423 viewers.

What does this mean?

Just over a quarter of the people who watched TV between 06h00 and 08h00 that morning watched Morning Live.

It has an Audience Share of 26.8, which means that approximately 2.6-million South Africans watch TV between those times overall, across channels.

I really thought Imbewu was going to pimp Scandal for the top spot especially since they had Khuzani appearance...... Isibaya is the new Isidingo

Imbewu is gone, there is nothing to watch there anymore since they decided to kill Ngcolosi and Pranav. Khuzani's performance only lasted less than 5 minutes...

The writers can still come up with something especially if they shifts the focus to the Rampersad family
