So that's it.

Giyani: Land of Blood is at its end.

Season 1 finishes this coming Tuesday (26 November) after a 104 episode season and SABC2 hasn't renewed it for Season 2.

We've spoken to SABC2's publicity department who tell us that it's going to undergo a review process which will decide whether or not they commission a second season but right now, they haven't.

It's being replaced by a repeat of Bone of My Bones, followed by an Abo Mzala repeat through December and into January - also Mondays to Wednesdays at 21h30.

And then a new telenovela called Lithapo premieres on 13 January, produced by Quizzical Pictures (Rhythm City, Ya Lla, Umlilo) .

To be honest I'm happy that #GiyaniLandofblood is ending before it turns into mediocre like what we see happening to The river and The queen. After all it's classified a TELENOVELA so technically it's bound to end. The creatives can come with something else or season 2 This allows for improvement.

Please dont bring Season 2. A good drama ends when people are still cringing for it. Look at Imbewu and The River. Complete nonsense. Thanks Giyani 4 a wonderful show

I think they should come back for Season 2 and then end it. Richard can't just get away with everything and musa and khensani must ride off into the sunset together
