Hope is utterly stunned by Aiden's return. Six months ago, on their wedding night, Aiden struggled over whether or not to murder his bride. Aiden later wakes in a cage with no clue as to what Andre's plan is or whether or not Hope survived the murder plot.

Before Hope can leave to deal with the Aiden situation, Ciara returns, insisting her mother knows nothing about what she’s going through. Aiden won’t talk to anyone except for Hope. Steve can’t find his jacket and has a suspicion Joey took it. Gabi slips into delirium.

Aiden urges Hope to believe it’s him, insisting the man who tried to kill her was an imposter. At the hospital, the virus situation becomes more dire as the first death occurs. After Gabi’s fever goes down, JJ helps sneak her into Arianna’s cubicle.

Abigail is upset that Chad has brought Thomas and invited her family to visit. Despite feeling the effects of the flu, Kayla continues to work. Fynn is desperate to find a cure for this bug, but when Kayla becomes ill, he insists that she let someone else take care of her.

Ciara helps Chad assemble a photo album for Abigail, that he hopes will convince her to come home to him and Thomas. Rafe and Roman learn that the body that was exhumed was not Aiden’s. Kayla has pulled herself out of bed to keep working on the crisis.

Aiden visits Andre, wanting answers. Hope tells Rafe she doesn’t know what her feelings are for Aiden. Ciara wants to get Chad’s mind off of his problems and suggests they take Thomas to the park. Fynn finds an antidote for the virus. JJ insists Gabi get the serum before him.

Rafe calls Hope, gives her the good news that his family is going to recover from the virus outbreak. Justin meets with Victor, and reports that Deimos has agreed to meet him, probably to test his trustworthiness. Kate surprises Deimos with a romantic dinner, then suggests they elope to Las Vegas.

Paul awakes, finally recovering from the virus. Kate suggests to Deimos that marry tonight in Vegas. Dario, meanwhile, stalls Kate who offers him a job at Titan. Eduardo appears and Dario learns his father and Kate used to date.

Things heat up between Deimos and Nicole. Hope goes for a walk in the rain… as does Aiden, who shares with her his difficulty adjusting to normal life. Chad has a dream where Stefano tells him to let go of Abigail while Ciara has a dream of kissing Chad. Belle comes down on Claire.

Kate walks in on Nicole, wearing a robe and nothing else, snooping in Deimos’ living room. Rafe sees Aiden kissing Hope, and storms away unseen. Belle, drunk, tries to kiss Shawn again and for the first time since their marriage fell apart, they make love.

Jennifer has a harrowing night as she tries to stop herself from giving into her painkiller addiction. Lucas enlists Doug and Julie, who try to distract Jennifer with stories about their travels. A grateful Jennifer thanks her family for standing by her.

Kayla is well enough to be released from the hospital. Aiden visits Chase in jail, promises he will get him released. Hope picks up Ciara for the hearing. Claire and Ciara are given community service. Aiden gets a call from Andre: Get him out of prison or he will have to tell Hope the truth.

After their night of passion, Claire senses a thaw in Belle and Shawn and asks if they’re back together. Theo can’t figure Ciara out. Hope confides in Rafe about how worried Ciara is that Aiden will get Chase out of jail. While he’s a good attorney, Rafe believes Aiden will ultimately be fighting an uphill battle.

Kate goes with Roman to the police station and spins her tale pinning the murder of Deimos on Nicole. Hope, at the end of her rope, goes to the Horton Cabin to try and sort out all the questions she has about her life. Rafe refuses to discuss Hope with his mother anymore because of her negativity.

At the Horton cabin, Bo has “arrived” to help Hope with a dark night of the soul. Bo urges her to get back her fighting spirit – and deal with all the issues that are holding her back. Afterwards, Hope deals with one last obstacle – herself.
