Viacom Networks (who own MTV, BET, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon) will be turning up this volume this March with a shake-up involving high-def, a new channel and a bouquet addition.

This is what you need to know:

1. MTV Base is being added to DStv Access and will be available from Tuesday 5 March 2019. (On Channel 322) This means that it's now available on Premium, Compact Plus, Compact, Family and Access.

2. BET, Comedy Central, MTV Africa, MTV Base and Nickelodeon will go HD on the same day.

Nickelodeon will only be available in HD in South Africa and the rest will be in HD across SADC countries.

3. A new channel called MTV Music 24 goes live on the DStv Premium and Compact Plus bouquets - also on 5 March - on Channel 323 so it's goodbye to VH1 Classic and hello to MTV Music 24 instead.

It's a music video channel feat. music videos 24 hours a day in various genres including pop, dance, rock and urban.

Boogy on!
