SABC1's shameful botching of Diamond City

What an EPIC FAIL!!

SABC1 is in desperate need of successful local dramas and instead of doing Everything in their power to ensure the success of the few series they have so they can rescue their flailing business, the channel has recklessly ruined its Sunday night drama Diamond City without breaking a sweat.

It was only supposed to end last night (Sunday, 13 January 2018) but it ended a week early after SABC1's schedulers botched the episode roll-out by airing the finale (episode 13) instead of episode 12 on Sunday, 6 January.

A pre-finale episode is 100% crucial to any series - it's the essence that builds-up to the end and yet no-one got to see it because the channel didn't even try to fix the situation. It's beyond mind-boggling and makes no logical sense.

They should have aired episodes 12 and 13 last night but no, instead of giving their fresh content the status it deserves, they ditched the series early and aired a repeat-of-repeat-of-a-repeat-of Shakespeare in Mzansi.

And this is all they had to say about it in a statement released on Friday:

“SABC 1 offers an unreserved apology to its viewers for the inconvenience caused due to the non-screening of episode 12 of the local drama series Diamond City on Sunday 06 January 2019 at 20h00. The unfortunate situation occurred as a result of a mislabelling error which saw episode 13, which is the final episode for the current season, airing instead. The channel’s Scheduling Department has in the meantime taken a decision not to screen the skipped episode (episode 12) to avoid a further negative impact on the schedule.”

Just not good enough SABC1.

Ive been recording this every week without watching it as I wanted to binge-watch the whole thing in one or two sittings.  Maybe I should just delete the episodes and forget about the whole thing.
