The new Indian-themed channel Star Life went live on DStv and Openview exactly a week ago (Monday 27 August 2018) with a line-up of primetime soapies, Bollywood movies and reality and talk shows.

You'll find it on Channel 110 on OpenView HD and on Channel 167 on DStv (from the Family bouquet upwards) - in HD on both platforms. It's also on GOtv, channel 23.

To help you navigate the line-up, we've compiled this handy guide which gives an overview of the channel's main attractions, with info on each of the daily soapies so you know what they're about if you want to tune in.

Here's what you need to know:

Forever Yours
On: Mondays to Saturdays at 18h00 and 18h30

Anshuman, owner of Rathor Mansion in Shimla, was married by his father to a girl named Paakhi at a very young age and because of tension between the two families, Paakhi never lived in her in-laws' house.

Years later, Anshuman married a girl of his choice when he came of age, but she died in a car accident and left him with a son named Ayan.

Time passed and Anshuman decided to marry Tanya, the daughter of a rich businessman, but when the news of his first wife is exposed, he unwillingly has to take Paakhi in.

As Anshuman wants to marry Tanya, he and his sister Lavanya, try to taunt and bully Paakhi into agreeing to a divorce, but Paakhi doesn't bend and Anshuman begins falling in love with her.

Will the innocent Paakhi make Anshuman realise the value of true love?

Not Without My Family
On: Mondays to Saturdays at 19h00 and 19h30

Karthik and Naira drifted away from their families because of a misunderstanding and this series tells the story of how the two meet, time and again, which leads to their relationship progressing further with each encounter.

It also shows how they bring each other closer to the family they have drifted apart from.

Set in Udaipur, the show focuses on human relations in a sensitive way. Social issues including girl child foeticide (the abortion of female foetuses), domestic violence and widow remarriage etc. are raised.

Game of Love
Mondays to Saturdays at 20h00 and 20h30

Omkara, Rudra and Shivaay are descendants of the powerful and affluent Oberoi business family. The cousins are extremely close and always have each other’s backs but with plans for succession in the offing, will their love stand the test of wealth?

The show follows the bond between the brothers and then shifts to the bonds the brothers have with their significant others.

Shivaay is a reputable businessman, who doesn't believe in love and plans to get married to Tia Kapoor, on his mother’s insistence. Shivaay gets married to Anika, an orphan who's been adopted by a family with a physically disabled brother, Sahil.

Although Shivaay and Anika don't get married under the perfect circumstances, they eventually fall in love and constantly prove to be the perfect couple and an example for their younger siblings.

Will the brothers find love and bring together the family…?

Waiting for Love
Mondays to Fridays at 21h00

The story opens with Kamini Mathur, a talented actress who is at the peak of her career. For the world, she is a Bollywood movie diva but in her personal life she is a simple girl.

Born to an administrative officer father and artist mother, Kamini has her middle-class values firmly in place.

Hard working but uncompromising towards her values and talent, she struggles to find true love amidst men who are lured only by her fame and beauty. Her search ends when Maharaja Madhav Singh enters her life.

Maharaja Madhav Singh is a righteous, down to earth, simple man. He is an ideal king and son who fulfils his duties well.

As the Maharaja of Rajgarh, Madhav is constantly surrounded by luxuries but he appreciates the small things in life. He has a penchant for art and is a romantic by heart who is looking for a soulmate who would love him for his values and not for his royal status.

But life and love are both twisted and show their tricks when least expected.
