How Do I Look South Africa

How Do I Look? South Africa, a local version of the international reality makeover franchise, is hosted by Roxy Burger, who is on the case to solve South Africa's most shocking fashion crimes.

The series features style-challenged participants from all walks of life as they each embark on the ultimate makeover journey with the help of their friends, Roxy, and her professional glam squad – including celebrity hair stylist Saadique Ryklief.

And, with his keen eye for fashion, Katleho Sinivasan will join Roxy as the show's style expert. Roxy and Kat accompany the participants every step of the way until their fresh new look is revealed at the end of each episode.

The series also features personal stories as well as practical fashion, beauty and lifestyle tips.

The premiere episode begins with Roxy introducing the show's very first contestant, 33-year-old Fisiwe. This motorbike-riding mom works for a mining company, and has chosen to play down her femininity to gain respect in a male dominated workspace.

Fisiwe is an ambitious, independent woman who's passionate about her family, her biking and her charity work. But is she ready to book her tomboy – and sometimes intimidating - look in for a major service?

We meet two of Fisiwe's friends, Maud and Precious, who hope to introduce their friend to different colours and outfit choices that speak to her sense of self-determination as a woman, while celebrating the lady she's destined to be.

Fisiwe also sits down with Roxy and opens up about her style choices to date, at times driven by her desire to shield herself from showing her true self and feelings.

The time comes for Fisiwe to face Roxy's accomplices. She's met by Maud and Precious in the 'intervention' room, and introduced to E! South Africa host and the show's style expert, Katleho Sinivasan. After allowing her time to defend her past fashion choices, the team help Fisiwe bid farewell to the clothing items that they believe must go.

Fisiwe is led into the How Do I Look? South Africa dressing room, where she's introduced to the collections chosen by her three accomplices. At this point, she doesn't know which collection belongs to who.

When choosing their respective collections, the accomplices all had the same goal in mind: to find Fisiwe an outfit that exudes her strength and independence, while adding and hint of glamour and womanly elegance where it was once missing.

Hair stylist extraordinaire, Saadique Ryklief, takes Fisiwe through three different looks, also chosen by the trio. Unaware of who chose which hair style, Fisiwe decides which one she likes best, before undergoing her very exciting makeover.

In front of a studio audience, the doors open and How Do I Look? South Africa's very first contestant is revealed. Will Fisiwe take to her brand-new look, or will the mom of two jump on her motorbike back to her tomboy style?

How Do I Look? South Africa is produced by Urban Brew. The series is NBCUniversal International Networks' third local remake of the format, following versions in Asia on Diva and Mexico on E! Latam.
