The Voice South Africa Recaps

The Voice SA 2 finale to air live on M-Net City

A heads-up that this Sunday's Voice SA Season 2 finale (9 July) will air live on both M-Net and M-Net City, starting at 17h00 (extended by 30 minutes).

The season has been airing on M-Net on Sundays and on City on Mondays but that's changing this week so everyone can see it together.

The finale will repeat on M-Net City on Monday (10th) at its usual time at 18h00.

We assume the finale has been extended to fit in performances by the millions of contestants who are still in the competition after last week's cheating allegations.

Voting for the winner closed on Wednesday (5 July) at 22h00.

! Check this out...

Whoever was cheating by buying boosted posts last week  - hasn't stopped. OR someone else is doing it now.

MNet's just sent in this statement saying that the voting has been counted and audited by Deloitte and Touche BUT someone paid for marketing again this week.

This from the statement titled
The results for The Voice SA final have been counted and confirmed:

The vote count and ranking of contestants were independently computed by Deloitte and Touche and confirmed against the vote results determined by M-Net this afternoon (Thursday 6 July) after voting closed last night (Wednesday 5 July) at 22:00.

M-Net was aware of another boosted social media post linked to The Voice SA voting this week. This paid-for marketing was visible online for approximately three hours on the morning of Tuesday 4 July and removed on M-Net’s request.

In each voting period, M-Net monitors the voting figures, activities and trends. Any abnormalities, such as spikes, are analysed to assess whether there is a material effect on the voting results.  Appropriate actions are taken, if required. At M-Net’s request, Deloitte and Touche independently computed the vote count and ranking just prior to this week’s boosted post and confirmed that the ranking of the talent and overall winner had not changed since the boosted post occurred.

Whoever did the boosted post needs to be disqualified!! It's beyond insane that contestants can cheat and get away with it.

I've asked M-Net why the guilty party hasn't been disqualified this week and this is what they say:

"This week’s boosting was not done by any of the talent. Due to privacy issues, we can’t disclose more information about the person who did the post."
