I’m happy to reveal my age - Masasa Mbangeni

Masasa Mbangeni's been on fire since she left Scandal! last year. She's had a starring role on SABC2's Thola and right now she's headlining e.tv's Monday night drama Harvest.

I spent time with her at the e.tv Upfronts recently and asked a question actresses often get iffy about:

Tashi: Do you mind people knowing your age?

Masasa: I don't mind.

Tashi: When were you born?

Masasa: I was born on 6 March 1987 so I turned 30 this year. I don't dig the fact that as actresses we need to hide our ages or be ashamed of it. It's silly. At the end of the day men are respected the older they get. They get more work.

----

We went on to have a freak out about the sexist, double standard that exists when it comes to age. We spoke about the fact that men get more respect with age - how they're regarded as being more attractive with age - but it's the total opposite with women!!
