7de Laan fans who used to love the Sunday omnibus will be happy to hear that it's coming back after it was so rudely snatched away in February this year.

The omnibus will return to SABC2 on Sunday, 2 July.

The channel hasn't issued an official reason yet but we assume the loss of over 1-million vewers is Reason Enough.

As reported on TVSA when the snatch-away occurred, over a million viewers were watching the omnibus on its highest rated days so it was a terrible decision on behalf of the cash starved SABC to rip it away.

The fact that 7de Laan has managed to come out fighting fit in spite of the omnibus chaos and the multiple time changes it's faced over the past year has proven that it is a valuable national asset, which the SABC desperately needs.

As we mentioned in the latest TAMS viewership ratings, the soapie's managed to restore its weeknight ratings since its move to 18h00 in February and the return of the omnibus will boost it more.

Now all we need is someone with a workable plan on how to turn the omnibus into much needed moolah.

Happy for the viewers. I don't watch 7de Laan anymore but I think SABC is such a joke run by idiots who constantly have to back track on their original bad decisions.

Yes. Yes. And Yassss! Now i have something to look forward to on Sundays afternoon. Its a great thing to watch missed episodes during the week that are uploaded on YouTube, but i prefer on watching an omnibus; it's much better.
