Introducing E!'s new South African red carpet host: Katleho Sinivasan

Move over Giuliana Rancic... there's a new signature E! face on the carpet:

26-year-old Katleho Sinivasan, winner of the E! Host: South Africa presenter search...

... in the moment of his win.

The search, which missed a trick by pre-selecting the eight finalists instead of opening the search to the South African public, has been airing on E! for the past six weeks.

Katleho was announced as the series winner during a flashy affair at Taboo Night Club in Joziburg on Wednesday night (8 March), while the finale aired on TV.

The event was MC'd by Queen B and series host Andile "good-to-see-him-again" Ncube and the finale pitted Katleho against his fellow finalist Abigail Visagie.

Katleho, who was schooled at the National School of the Arts, studied at AFDA and gained his additional education through Vogue, which he lists as his favourite reading matter.

His first claim to fame was in 2007 when he was chosen as one of the six band members on the second season of the SABC2 reality show Famous!

He went on to host two seasons of SABC1's weekend breakfast show Mzansi Insider and has built up a healthy list of other credits with guest roles on SABC1's My Perfect Family and Mutual Friends. He's also been a featured guest on Zaziwa.

His E! win means that he's going to host E!'s future red carpet events, starting with the upcoming SAFTAs. But they're not letting him loose alone. He'll be co-hosting with Bonang, who will no doubt be pulling a much chunkier pay cheque than him.

E!'s red carpet coverage of the SAFTAs is titled Beyond the Red Carpet and will be delayed again this year. The ceremony and official red carpet will air on SABC2 on Saturday, 18 March from 19h30 and E!'s coverage will air on Tuesday, 21 March at 20h00.

Does Katleho have same staying power as Giuliana? The red carpet will reveal the answer.
