Exclusive: Former Isidingo star makes TV comeback on new e.tv series

TVSA can exclusively reveal that Emmanuel Castis returns to our boxes soon as one of the stars of e.tv's new 20h00 contender Broken Vows.

As we reported last week, the series premieres on Monday, 10 April once Gold Diggers ends and tells the story a family-owned wedding planning business called Yours Truly Wedding Concepts.

Emmanuel plays Chris Myburgh, a soccer player turned broadcaster who was forced to retire from the game after suffering a back injury.

His family was rugby mad so he was considered the black sheep, a situation that he's remedied by falling deeply in love.

Emmanuel's return to primetime has a ring of déjà vu because he used to be all over the place when you turned on your TV.

We knew him as Steve on Isidingo, Cole on Scandal!, Yannis on 7de Laan, Brent on the SABC3 dramedy One Way and Chris on 4Play: Sex Tips for Girls and five seasons of Erfsondes.

He also won the fourth season of Strictly Come Dancing where he landed the crown and  and a lot more - when he dated fellow SCD contestant Tanya van Graan.

Between then and now, he's been living in both South Africa and America where he had a guest role on long-running soapie General Hospital last year, as a Greek character Kostas.

In South Africa he was most recently seen in 2016's romcom Happiness Is a Four-Letter Word and in the third season of the pirate adventure Black Sails, which aired on History.

He's played a character named Kostas twice, and Broken Vows takes Chris to a triple whammy. Clearly producers believe that he is Chris.

Although not much to go on, looks interesting.
