Survivor makes its comeback to SABC3 tonight (3 October) at 20h00 which means it's time to get to know the crazies in the line-up.
The season is set in
Cayagan Cagayan (I'm never gonna know which is right), a province of the Philippines, situated like so:
The theme for the season: "Brawn vs. Brains vs. Beauty." The idea behind the division is that the season tests whether there's any truth to the idea that certain characteristics help people win the game.
Is strength the most important element to win or is beauty a stronger weapon in the social game? If you're scrawny but you're stuffed with brains, what impact does it have?
The 18 castaways are divided into three tribes of six and some of them are overtly suited to their category whereas others aren't. According to the show, they're divided by the characteristics that they most use in their everyday lives e.g. there are two to three schmodel types on the Beauty tribe.
Some are a lot less obvious though. For instance, hairdresser Lindsey looks as if she's smoked one bong too many to be on Brawn.
