The 16th annual BET Awards went down in Los Angeles this weekend and delivered notable news for South Africans with a scoop by Black Coffee who became the first South African to the win the Best International Act catgeory.

His win was announced at a BET event on Saturday night (25 June), along with the other international category winners. Naija's Falz won the Viewers’ Choice Best New International Act category and Skepta won Best International Act UK.

The international event was followed by the awards ceremony on Sunday night, which will only air here two days late - on Tuesday (28 June) at 19h00. The broadcast will include both Sunday's ceremony and the international winners so we'll definitely see Black Coffee receiving his award.

Spoiler alert!
