E! Entertainment upstaged the official SAMAs red carpet this week by announcing the hosts of their carpet coverage before the SAMAs have announced their official hosts.
Minnie Dlamini and Katlego Maboe will be hosting E!'s coverage in a show called Beyond the Red Carpet, which will air three days after the event, on Tuesday, 7 June at 20h00.
It may be three days late but it's the only SAMAs red carpet show that's going to air on TV. The official red carpet isn't going to air on SABC1 on the night of the ceremony.
The ceremony itself will air live on Saturday, 4 June at 20h00 but the official red carpet will only be available via live streaming on the SAMA app.
Considering this set-up, you'd think that E! would have done everything they could to cover it live on TV, like they do with the Oscars and other international ceremonies. They didn't cover the SAFTAs red carpet live either so it seems South African ceremonies aren't allowing them to.
