A diva shoutout to let you know that the fifth season of Drop Dead Diva premieres on Sony Channel this Monday (17 August).
It starts at 15h35 and will air Mondays and Tuesdays at the same time. In a second life.
The series was cancelled after Season 4 but it was renewed as a result of fan loyalty and lives on for another two seasons. There's a Season 6 and then it ends.
In case you haven't watched it... it centres round wannabe schmodel Deb who dies in an accident. She finds her soul resurfacing in the body of a brilliant, plus-size, recently deceased attorney, Jane Bingum, played by Brooke Elliott.
So what can we expect from the new season?
90210's Justin Deeley.
He plays Jane's new guardian angel Paul, who she's obviously thrilled by. The picture doesn't reflect his character's outfit - I just chose the pic 'cos you-know-why.

"We pick up Season 5 with Jane in a frazzled state and for good reason. Jane is incredibly frightened that Owen is dead or missing since Owen had a heart attack after seeing Jane kiss Grayson. But that’s not all since a certain soul decided to return at the end of last season. Jane also doesn’t know if Old Jane’s soul is in Owen’s body … if she’s not in Owen’s body, where is Old Jane? And who’s got control of Old Jane?”
