The History
Mansion Parties has been around for the last three years, this event was mostly private with themes such as "Chef Champagne" whereby there would be a chef cooking for the event the whole night (must have been very very nice).
The founders have recently opened this event to the public (was so excited to be invited). They have been sponsored by the likes of RED BULL, SMIRNOFF, HENESSEY amongst many others. These events take place at the most elite venues in the most beautiful mansions (felt like I was on "Top Billing" for a moment really, got me doing the Shymoney Dance).
The Theme
Enter the world of fantasy, the theme was quite interesting as it was a Masquerade (saw some masks that blew my mind). Though the birthday boy was dressed like he was from Saudi Arabia (literally, Homie looked like a Sheik, I was waiting for the gold to just fall out his pockets).
As you entered the venue you were to treated to a drink just to show you that the party starts at the door.
The Dresscode
If there was a theme song for this one it would have to be from a James Bond movie. It was all about "The Suit and Tie". People came dressed to impress (I must say this is the first event that I have attended where people actually respected the dresscode, in other words no one came dressed as if they were going to a Mc'Donalds).I applaud all the attendee's - they did the event proud.
The Food
Ok I am a huge eater like promise me food and I am there. The food at this event was amazing, compliments to the chef. You know it's a luxurious event when seven different types of cheese are served as appetizers that surely goes down well with a bottle of champagne.
The main course was homely (just to show that they still keep it real) dessert was on FLEEK the delicasies served were too delicious for words.
The Music
The DJ was on point. We were treated to Hip - Hop, House even old school Kwaito was in the mix (broke a little dance sweat especially when he played "Thobela By Boomshaka"). Though good people SHUMAYA is real and it is out there to get us (do me a favour scan the room before Shumaya plays and scan it after, you will see the difference I tell you).
The Celebrities
The likes of Refilwe Mondiselle aka Ms Vanilla from "HUSH" was there - got to have a one on one chat with her. She is friends with the birthday boy (probably why they call him "Mr International) - said she was happy to attand her boy's birthday party (she is so gorgeous, with the most amazing smile).
An actor from "Rythm City" also attended - I know him by the name of SPHA (cause I watch "Friends Like These", go Google dears, help yourself) just to name a few.
All in all it was a wonderful event, the Mansion itself was beautiful, The Ambience was truly bubbly. Thank Goodness that this event has now been open to the public so you can experience it for yourself .
