High Rollers to become telenovela in SABC3 shake-up

SABC3's jumping on the telenovela bandwagon by launching one of their own. The channel's turned gambling drama series High Rollers into a telenovela and it's returning in June in the 19h30 timeslot.

It's going to air Mondays to Wednesdays and returns as it was, with the same characters etc.

The addition means the channel's schedule will go through yet another of it's many, many changes. #Yawn The shows that are currently on at 19h30 will move half an hour later. This will impact on the Monday comedies and Tuesday's Common Law, The Good Wife and Hostages.

There isn't clarity on whether or not Survivor will remain at 20h30 - whether the two comedies will be replaced with one. We'll keep you posted when we know.

The Thursday night schedule's also changing. Top Billing moves from 20h30 to 19h30 to make way for The Man Cave which returns for Season 2 at 20h30. These are followed by a surprising return at 21h00.

Charly's Cake Angels will be back on the channel after seasons of being on DStv's Food Network. The first season aired on SABC3 in 2011 and then it disappeared for the next seasons. The Cake Angels faced the death of Charly between then and now.

The Thursday night changes start on 18 June and the Monday to Wednesday night changes start on the 29th - when High Rollers starts.

If you enjoyed the first season... how do you feel about the change? If you've never watched, will you? For more about it, see: TVSA's High Rollers Show Page.

Great! I hope the change in format from Drama to Telenovela will not ruin it. Eish I need a recap of where we left off High Rollers, its been a while.

That is great I suppose. Looking forward to it. SABC3 can still do more as far as local series are concerned. Another soap at primetime would be good.

A heads-up that High Rollers is going to be on Mondays to Wednesdays and not Mondays to Fridays - we had Mondays to Fridays in the article and just changed it.
