e.tv embraces Royalty Soapie Awards

e.tv abstained from entering the Royalty Soapie Awards in their inaugural year last year but it's different story this year. Scandal! and Rhythm City will be among the contenders when the award nominees are announced tonight.

Last year e.tv stated that the channel first wanted to discuss the entry of their soapies with the Royalty organisers to get clarity on what the awards are about before entering their shows. This has now been done.

This from e.tv's Head of Channels Monde Twala about the decision:

After having numerous meetings with the organisers, we emerged with  a better sense of the objectives of the awards.  e.tv has two of the most loved soapies with talented cast, who deserve  recognition for their performance.
