e.tv is looking to hire an online content producer for the channel's website.
Reporting to the e.tv Online Manager and Online Editor your Key Performance Areas would include:
- Produce original and compelling quality entertainment content
- Conduct interviews and write feature and news articles on a daily basis for the site
- Sub-edit copy and rewrite headlines and intro copy
- Rework publicity material
- Manage and maintain show pages
- Manage, upload, update and schedule content in a Drupal CMS
- Manage comments
- Originate content ideas and apply them
- Write engaging posts and monitor social media platforms, especially Facebook, Twitter and Mxit.
- Source, edit and upload images
- Attend events; write stories and take pictures covering relevant shoots, PR and marketing events.
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary education with journalism, English, Media Studies or related degree
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years online journalism experience
- Experience writing for online
- Exceptional flair for writing and editing in English
- Excellent sub-editing skills and ability to write catchy headlines
- Experience with Photoshop and basic picture editing, knowledge of photo journalism a plus
- Understand and love digital media
- Experience working on an online CMS (preferably Drupal)
- Sound editorial judgment and a gossip and entertainment news hound
- Well-organized
- Strong people and time management skills
- Ability to thrive under pressure
