Tim Modise spoke to Morris Roda Founder and Member of SA promoters' Association, THERE WERE CALLS FOR US ARTIST NICKI MINAJ TO#PAYBACKTHE MONEY – BUT WHAT HAS REALLY HAPPENED BEHIND CLOSED DOORS OF THE FAILED TRIBE-ONE CONCERT WHICH CAUSED CONTROVERSY IN RECENT WEEKS.

On the 16th of October, music promoter Morris Roda said that the media was biased on how they reported the controversial Dinokeng TribeOneFest. He went on to say that the City of Tshwane was a victim of a media that sought to protect Sony Music Entertainment and Rockstar4000.

Mr Roda said that if a Black Promoter was the one behind the event, there would be noise and mention of "being incompetant and corrupt".

Mr Roda went on to tell the ANCYL to stop making statements on issues they do not understand well. Mr Roda also said that Nicki Minaj has not performed, so she did not earn any money, so the money had to be paid back to the City of Tshwane"not donated"

Tim Modise wanted clarity on Roda's statement about the media being biased. Mr Roda repeatedly mentioned that the media,"Went along with this nonsense ( taking sides)"

Mr Roda emphasized the need to respect and protect event funders, as much as their interests as an association is to protect promoters. He mentioned that the government of SA funds most of the major events in South Africa, including Macufe, Cape Town Jazz Festival etc. He went on to say government funds 80% of these events.

Mr Roda said that cancelling an event instead of postponing is fraudlent and that needs to be addressed. He stressed the point that Sony as an organiser need to deliver the event, and or do the right thing, #PayBack the money.
