Pearl Modiadie teams up with Maps Maponyane to host SABC 1’s new daily World Cup lifestyle show - Kasi To Favelas.
She’s an actress, presenter and the face of Avon’s Aspire and 2014 is turning out to be the Year of Pearl Modiadie. Pearl will be teaming up with local heartthrob Maps Maponyane to present
Kasi To Favelas, a fast-paced World-Cup inspired lifestyle show which will air live every night at 20h30 on local broadcaster SABC 1 from the 23rd of June to the 12th of July 2014.
Each show will be juxtaposing the lifestyle elements of South Africa as the 2010 hosts and Brazil as the current hosts of the FIFA World Cup. The focus will be on capturing the tournament fever through music and dance, hospitality, cuisine, city beautification, the party scene, fan parks and social initiatives.
“A world cup is the best sporting event in the world and to be involved in delivering exciting news about an event of this stature is truly an honour,” Pearl said on her new gig. “Our 2010 World Cup was very special to all of us and people all over the world couldn't wait to hear the latest on what was happening on our shores! I am so excited to be hosting Kasi To Favelas and to be able to bring the Brazilian flair to South Africa. The cherry on top is that I get work with hotty Maps Maponyane!”
