Let’s take a look at what’s happening in our soapies. I have noticed that there is something common happening in soap land these days, its men wanting babies no matter what and they can do whatever to get them. On
Generations, Muvhango and Rhythm City there’s a man who wants a baby and he is willing to do anything to get what he wants.
We know Generations hasn’t been delivering lately I think they are trying sheim. They have now made Sbali a monster who’s forcing Khetiwe to have his baby. I think they are trying to show that there is a dark side to
Khaphela too even though many think yindod’eqotho. Mapholoba is doing what many do in Jozi to get what they want, which is blackmail.
He has been blackmailing Khethiwe to have his baby for him to keep shut about what happened the night Diamond died. Khaphela could feel there is something terrible that Khethiwe is involved in after she’s been acting strange and like a psycho.
She eventually came clean to Khaphela and told him everything that happened the night Diamond died and what has been making her uneasy. Khaphela is now using the information that he knows to get what he has been longing for all this time, which is a baby. We know that Khetiwe decided to abort Khaphela’s baby she was carrying after she did an invitro.
I haven’t seen Khaphela behaving the way he’s been behaving lately. Mapholoba doesn’t care whatever
Khetiwe says he just wants to have a baby with her. Khetiwe has told him a countless times that she doesn’t love him but Khaphela doesn’t care he told her she can learn to love him.
I don’t know why he insists on having a baby with Khetiwe like there are no other women in Jozi. He doesn’t seem to care about his wife Sara. We know Sara can’t have kids because she is old, which puzzles me why both of them don’t have kids at such an old age and only think about making them now.
Khaphela wants to make this baby in Brazil. Khetiwe is so terrified by all this. She must be thinking about the day Sbali finally says today “its d-day siyayenza le ngane.” Shem poor Kheti.
We don’t know how this will end up whether Khetiwe will finally oblige or just hand herself to the police which is what I would do if I was in her situation.
Now On Muvhango Meme was thrilled to discover that she is pregnant. I don’t know what made her think she is pregnant and be sure before she can even take the pregnancy tests. She even disclosed the news to her person
KK.
KK was also happy when he found out that he’s going to be a father. Meanwhile Meme couldn’t wait to gloat to Thandaza about her wonderful news. We know Meme miscarried her baby with Ndalamo who was also Thandaza’s husband.
Meme didn’t take the news of her miscarriage very well. She didn’t recover from her ordeal even though she pretends to be strong. So her finding out she is pregnant was a good thing for her to heal her pain.
Mind you KK is also an abusive lover in all this. He controls Meme and everything she does. He is the very jealous type he doesn’t want to see her cosy with other man and Meme must always watch what she says and do to other man.
Meme told Thandaza about her pregnancy and other people as well. KK also revealed the news to his friends. After Meme has told the whole town that she is preggies she decided to go the doctor who told her that she is actually not pregnant.
She requested the Dr. to do more tests while in the back of her mind she’s thinking about how KK will kick her butt if what the doctor says is really true. All tests confirmed that
Meme is not pregnant and she hid it to KK and continued pretending that she’s preggies.
The day KK found out he was furious. He also thought about his friends that he has already told that he is going to be the father. He tried playing the game with Meme pretending that he doesn’t know anything and Meme kept on lying until KK lost it and confronted her.
KK aggressively grabbed the forever shaky and crying Meme who was asking for much forgiveness. To hurt Meme even more KK told her she was not going to be a good mother anyway even if she was pregnant. Meme wants to get out of this abusive relationship but KK won’t take that.
I must say I didn’t get bored by this Muvhango abusive relationship storyline even though it has been done a couple of times by other soapies and dramas. I guess when this abusive relationship storyline is done creatively and well it doesn’t get boring. Like Intersexion did with the HIV/AIDS storyline.
I have to say I haven’t been watching Rhythm City lately. It has been boring for me. I don’t know what to say the real reason is but I just don't feel it lately. I check it every now and then but I don’t watch the full episode but I read July’s teasers and it seems interesting as
David Genaro is at it again.
He wants a baby high and low and he is even willing to pay for it. He wants his biological child. We know he thought Lucilla’s baby Buhle was his, only to find out the baby is actually Miles’ baby.
When he discovered this he had already put baby Buhle as his beneficiary as he thought he is a Genaro meaning every Genaro property belongs to him should David die.
When David found out that Buhle is not his child he even wanted to kill Buhle so there can be no beneficiary as he doesn’t want Lucilla and Miles to have his assets. What would you do if you were in David's shoes?
This coming July, he’s going to be getting close to
Gail and end up being sex buddies. They will have a no-strings-attached relationship. David will make a deal with Gail offering her half a million rand to fall pregnant with his child.
Gail will refuse the first offer and David will make an even better one that will make Gail agree and even sign partnership agreement. Sbu thinks this is no different to prostitution.
