So last night it was the first episode of
Blame it on the Fame, the twinz new reality show that plays on etv every Mondays at 20:30 pm. Well since we've seen some SA reality show we were looking forward to see what the twinz have in store for us. I'm sure we were all hoping their reality show is not going to be like another reality show that we saw earlier this year and it is certanily way better than it I must say.
The show started with the twinz,
Hlelo and Ntando Masina telling us about themselves what they do and what they are famous for. Well we know that they are YFM DJs and they were Mzansi Iinsider presenters.
They are always seen together everywhere wearing matching outfits and with same hairstyles. In their reality show they made it easy for some of us who struggle to see whose Hlelo and who’s Ntando by having different hairstyles. Hlelo is the one with long hair and Ntando is the one with short hair.
The twinz went to the Mail & Gaudian Top 200 event. They arrived and were welcomed by well known publicist and PR guru Farah Fortune. They had a chat with Mail & Guardian editor. Hlelo couldn’t wait to mingle with the event goers as she is looking. She went to introduce herself to some guys and had a few chats with them.
Later they showed us them doing their radio show on YFM. I picked up that Ntando is the crazy one and bit childish while Hlelo is more mature. After they were done doing their show Ntando told Hlelo that she has organized a blind date for her.
Hlelo said for some reason Ntando likes organizing blind dates for her. Hlelo asked Ntando about the guy that what kind of guy he is, whether he is working and all that stuff coz yena she can’t hook up with some guy nje.
Ntando assured her that he is a good working guy and a part-time model. Hehehe Hlelo went "
#deathby models" lol twitter mara. I hope I don’t say this out loud somewhere it's just weirdish hearing someone say it out loud coz it’s usually in writing. Anyway…Hlelo agreed to go on a blind date with the guy.
After that, the twinz decided to get tattoos - something they know their parents do not approve of - especially their mother. But they told themselves that they are going to hide them. Their parents won’t see them and they aren’t going to do them were its visible.
They met with the tattoo artist and explained what kind of tattoos they want and where they want them made. Ntando was the first one on the couch to get her tattoo done. She was feeling the pain but the tattoo guy told her it’s not going be that bad she must just hold on his arm.
We could see Ntando feeling the pain but she decided to be strong as Hlelo was watching and she knew Hlelo won’t do it if she cries.
Then it was Hlelo’s turn tjo when the tattoo guy was about to do his thing Hlelo told him to wait. She then finally decided to go ahead with the tattoo and Ntando was encouraging her to do it. She told her it is not that bad.
In a few seconds Hlelo cried and Ntando was teasing her and laughing saying “stop being a cry baby”. Hlelo told Ntando to leave the room as she was annoying her. Well they got done with the tattoos and left to do some shopping after the shopping they went home.
At home their mom and daughter in-laws were preparing launch. The whole family was there. Their brothers Naked, Rameshi and Fortune Masina were all there. Naked’s wife the beautiful Bulelwa was also there with their kid..
Their mom is those kind of moms we say ba-strict she doesn’t want alcohol anywhere around her so they had to hide all the alcohol when she was around. When she left for a short while they helped themselves to some drinks and their dad was drinking from a coffee mug lol hiding the alcohol.
Their mother quickly came back so they had to pretend they didn’t do anything while she was gone. So they dished out the lunch and sat down to eat as a family half way through the lunch Naked’s wife Bulelwa asked Naked if he had seen the twinz tattoos lol. This was supposed to be their big secret but she let the cat out the bag.
Naked asked Bulelwa what tattoos and everyone heard them that they were talking about the twinz and tattoos. Tjo quickly their parents’ face changed. Their mom lost it and shouted them about the tattoos. Asking them how can they do something they know very well she does not approve of?
Hlelo blamed it on Ntando apparently she likes do this too. Hlelo had to stand up for themselves and told their mother about their work and that they made it to the Mail & Guardian top 200 etc. But still their mother wouldn’t have any of that while their father changed and laughed it off with Hlelo.
After the lunch the twinz left their home for their radio show on YFM and their mom watched them leave. They told her to listen to their show she told them no she wont she doesn’t want to hear anything from them. She was still upset shem but she was not that angry.
Next time week we’re going to see Hlelo going on a blind date.
So what did you guys think mna I loved it! It was reality TV shem. There wasn’t too much talking to the camera. They were just doing what they were doing and talking to each other. The cameras were just following them.
I read in DRUM that they say at first they weren’t comfortable with cameras following them but that didn’t show as I was watching the show. The quality of Blame it on the Fame is tops too. Big up to Rapid Blue!
