After the heated give-and-take on the
Top 10 Best actresses of our time, I believed it was only fair we have the actors too; below you will find the Top 10 as identified by myself. Y’all are invited to strut your opinions on my ramp. Let’s get wicked!
1. Fana Mokoena
Fana is an actor of note, he can play elusive, mysterious, psycho and heartless - I am pretty sure he would pull a sangoma too. He is an epitome of genuine versatility. I will agree that he isn’t very gifted in the looks department, but he can bring the house down. I personally don’t see him in a lead-role, he just needs to be in a show and he outstands behind those leads. From his days on Yizo Yizo playing the ever-angry/weirdo/geek to his obsessed and psychotic days as Dr Mandla Sithole on Generations, Fana Mokoena has excelled and matured with time.

2. Jamie Bartlett
Mention a Genuis and Rhythm City’s David Genaro comes to mind. This is one actor who knows how to captivate the viewers. That perfect English and the continuous horrible puns in his speech, and throw in that manipulative demeanor, Jamie is a gem of an extreme quality. From his days on Isidingo Jamie Bartlett has grown to become a phenomenal actor who makes a villainous role look effortless. He becomes the villain. Robert De Niro and Al Pacino can take a
#ChillPill!
3. Vusi Kunene
Where do I start with this man though? HARD! Can I say that Vusi Kunene is talented without any fear of ciber attacks? There’s just absolutely no role that this man cannot command, his talent is limitless and the charm he brings in his performances are enough get ladies to swoon and to score him a spot on my list. His career graph includes roles in “Justice for all”, “Generations”, “Jacob’s Cross” to name a few and he has nailed each and every role. Vusi doesn’t have to forcefully shove his acting down our throats, when he gets into a character, he is
#Believable!
4. Robert Whitehead
Robert represents flexibility. He can play anything from a drag queen to a villain. Brilliant in both comedic and dramatic roles he is a force to be reckoned with. I still think he is the best thing that has ever happened to Isidingo, his portrayal of the devious Barker Haines is unforgettable and spot on… you just fall in love with his work. I give him 5 pink stars,
#ThatsAll!
5. Rapulana Seiphemo
Rapulana rocks! He does every scene with ease and he makes acting look natural. He is the TALENT. I can imagine him doing different roles and smacking them real hard as most roles he played were rather hooligan. Nobody can do gangster roles like Seiphemo does, but wait, nigga can rock a tux, hit the boardroom and nail the role. He is a rare genus in this industry. Much
#R.E.S.P.E.C.T!
6. Sello Maake Ka-Ncube
Against one of the bloggers tshavile, I take the plunge and put Sello in this top 10. I first watched him as Dr Mashoba-a-dieta on "
Bophelo ke Semphekgo". This man’s talent has sparkled with every performance; his theatre background also comes to play in his tv roles, It looks exaggerated (or one can call it Over-acting) but the emotions he put in his acts are hell-real and you just get sold. Sello is simply incomparable. True, he does turn to ‘Over-act’ but it still goes down well. Bratt Pitt and the rest can
#SitDown!
7. Menzi Ngubane
Most will agree with me, but as cliché’ as this is, Menzi is undoubtedly one of Msanzi’s best actors. Back from his role in a zulu drama “
Ubambo Lwami” when the only English I could speak was “Good Morning Mam”, the man has come a long way and he has grown to be a finest jewel. His portrayal of Sibusiso Dlomo has scored him more fans, credibility and a nomination in prominent categories, Menzi is undeniably an icon.
#NuffSaid!
8. Ronnie Nyakale
We all remember Papa Action from
Yizo Yizo 1, right? nodding already? Cool. Now this man is underrated, can I hear a halleluya? I could go on and on, but Ronnie (in spite of his rough exterior) has continually pushed his creative limits. Let’s face it, this dude can act. He has gathered a lot of buzz as Ding Dong on Rhythm City and there’s no question that he is Spectacular. Haters can
#CalmDown!
9. Patrick Ndlovu
He currently plays Ntate Moloi on Zone 14, his eyes alone will send a 10 year old running for cover and his emotions would complete a 2 minutes scene and still entertain. He can play a manipulative, strong role and make it so believable. He is a genie in a bottle, top-notch and very faultless, he’s the type you’d love to hate and his work is remarkable. The Diabolic nature he brings in his performances just makes one cringe. Patrick Ndlovu is just
#OnPoint!
10. Mlangeni Nawa
Mlangeni is a timeless and legendary talented actor. His acting is still relevant ‘til now. Not really sure if I can call him versatile but from his roles as Mhlogo kwi “Hlala kwa bafileyo” to his current role as the horny old Zeb Matabane on Isidingo, Mlangeni continues to deliver flawless, consistent and epic acting. His name definitely deserves to be on the wall of fame! Let’s all say
