This long weekend, I decided to add more meaning into the Holy week and attend church from Friday all the way to Sunday. And you know what... It was great.
I attended the Grace Bible Church Orlando Stadium Services and the focus throughout the weekend was God's mercy.
The services were conducted by a host of priests including Pastor Mosa Sono, Pastor Ray McCauley and Doctor Mathole. Their message was very powerful and left some of us, sinners with a lot of hope that God loves us with all our faults.
The services were attended my multitudes and it was a sign that many people didn't "Go for Good" as they normally do during this period. Eish, these petrol hikes mara, now people can't go home *SMH*
However, people staying behind in GP was a true blessing, as thousands of people gave their lives to Christ (they became born-again) and what a celebration it must have been in heaven.
The services were also packed with various entertainment. There was a mini-play which portrayed the relevance and importance of the Easter weekend. This was all done by the youth of the church, who also sang in the choir and even composed Kwaito and Hip Hop tracks.
But the entertainment that got everybody out of their seats was the singing performed by music greats. I'm talking about the likes of Sechaba, Ntokozo Mbambo, Patrick Duncan, Andile and various other acts. It was my first time hearing Sechaba perform live and OMW, that guy has a powerful voice. Tjo, I need to start attending his concerts...
The music group, Redeemed, also graced the event with their tunes. You gotta love this group because the members have a strong presence in the music industry and have enjoyed good success. Some were part of the Joyous Celebration group, others had TV careers and sang in different genres but one guy I know is Mojalefa who's worked with the likes of Brown Dash, Prokid and Mzekezeke.
In attendance were a number of prominent individuals including members of parliament, senior priests from other dominations and Mzansi celebs. I only spotted former SAFA CEO, Leslie Sedibe as Pastor Mosa Sono was leaving the pitch. Atleast the Sedibe presence was felt, since they introduced Sonia aka Ntombi as one of the prominent guests. It just made me think of all the Generations people and how they feel their soapie is "Prominent." *Hides*
I thoroughly enjoyed all the services and I trully feel spiritually revived. Can I get an hallelujah up in here. Lol
I know Moria takes up most of the spotlight during this period, so I'd like to know who went to Moria and how it was? Also if you went to other church services, please do share!
If you didn't go to church or are not Christian, what did you get up to this long weekend?
